Senior Accountant Location: Phoenix, AZ (onsite only) Experience: Senior Level Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year Overview A growing, multi‑state construction and development firm is seeking a Senior Construction Accountant to join its Phoenix‑based finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in construction accounting, job costing, and multi‑entity financial management. What You’ll Be Doing Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities and states Perform construction job cost accounting, ensuring proper cost allocation and project tracking Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job cost reporting Support year‑end audits and tax preparation Help improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls Provide financial reporting and analysis to support leadership decision‑making What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications 5+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry Strong knowledge of construction accounting and job costing Hands‑on experience with Sage 300 / Timberline Experience supporting multiple legal entities Solid understanding of the full accounting lifecycle Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Advanced Excel skills and financial reporting proficiency Nice to Have Qualifications Construction accounting experience Key Skills & Traits High attention to detail and financial accuracy Strong organizational and time‑management skills Analytical mindset with problem‑solving ability Clear communicator who collaborates well across teams Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment Why This Opportunity Join a stable, growing construction organization with a strong project pipeline High‑impact role with visibility to senior leadership Career growth path toward Controller‑level leadership Collaborative culture that values accountability and continuous improvement A Bit About Us Arizona General Contractor with a focus on projects i.e. parks, recreation, sports facilities and open space construction.
