Hilo, located on the northeastern side of the island of Hawaii, offers breathtaking natural beauty plus all the amenities of a vibrant town including museums, art galleries, shops, and restaurants. The region is blessed with dramatic waterfalls, fertile rainforests, and blooming gardens. It's also home to the University of Hawaii at Hilo and is a convenient stop on your way to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, located just 45 minutes south. The island of Hawaii is the youngest and largest island in the Hawaiian chain. Nearly twice as big as all of the other Hawaiian Islands combined (hence its nickname, "Big Island"), its sheer size is awe-inspiring. You can travel through all but four of the world's different climate zones here, ranging from Wet Tropical to Polar Tundra, a result of the shielding effect and the elevations of the massive volcanoes Maunakea and Maunaloa. From the many geological features at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to the snow-capped heights of Maunakea; from the lush valleys of the Hilo and Hamakua Coasts to the jet-black sands of Punaluu Beach, the island of Hawaii is an unrivaled expression of the power of nature.

Responsibilities (listed are included but not limited to)

• Providers shall see patients for general medicine problems including performing the history and physical exam, making electronic progress notes, scheduling return visits, writing orders for lab and x-ray, prescribing medications, etc. Functioning as a primary care provider, the provider shall request, as indicated, consultations from specialists and subspecialists with the Client staff.
• Provider shall participate in quality management activities that pertain to his/her duties.
• In addition to the above clinical responsibilities, providers shall hold routine administrative duties.
• Shall participate in clinical conferences for staff and shall attend medical staff and service-level meetings.
• Enter orders and prescriptions electronically using the Computerized Patient Records System and electronically sign all.
• Enter orders and prescriptions electronically using CPRS, as appropriate.
• Complete electronic clinical reminders in accordance with Client policy and procedures using the CPRS. Provider must comply with all Client performance measure requirements.

Requirements

• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Family Medicine.
• Must have a current license to practice medicine in any state, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.
• Must have current certification in Basic Life Support as certified by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Ilocano or Tagalog speaking preferred.
• Must be graduated from an accredited medical school (degree being either MD or DO).
• Completion of a Residency in Family Medicine.
