Regional Patient Access Manager - NP RPAM Great Plains

About the Role

The Regional Patient Access Manager (RPAM) is responsible for three main functions:
Provide field access support services and education to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) to maximize product access and accelerate time to treatment.
Communicate with Specialty Pharmacies (SPs), Closed Door Pharmacies (CDPs) – including Genoa – and Patient-Physician Services (HUB partner) to support Neurocrine Biosciences marketed products in the U.S.
Build and uphold the integrity of the companys pharmacy distribution network by conducting vetting activities within an assigned geography, and communicating approval, denial or removal from the network.
Key Responsibilities

Build and sustain relationships with pharmacies, physicians, and other HCPs to resolve coverage problems for in-process prescriptions.
Collaborate with field sales leadership (Regional Sales Managers, Account Specialists, National Account Directors), network pharmacies, and internal departments (commercial analytics, operations) to support patient access with specific payers.
Provide training and education to HCPs on payer‑specific coverage policies, documentation requirements, appeals processes, and Company patient financial assistance programs.
Introduce technology options (e.g., CoverMyMeds) for electronic Patient Access (PA) submission, explain payer criteria, forms, processes, PA, Letter of Medical Necessity, appeals, step edits, formulary exception requests, and other related coverage issues.
Problem‑solve and conduct case resolution, communicating effectively and compliantly with all stakeholders.
Identify and communicate payer issues to the National Account Directors team.
Support local closed‑door and LTC pharmacies with education and support services.
Report opportunities and challenges related to patient access to management.
Present insights into payer coverage policies and processes at internal business reviews and national/regional sales meetings.
Conduct Patient Access workshops during POA meetings and assist with new‑hire training.
Ensure a diverse and inclusive environment and uphold the pharmacy distribution network’s integrity through vetting and monitoring.
Qualifications

BS/BA in a related field AND 6+ years of pharma/biotech commercial experience, with at least 2 years in specialty pharmacy/market access; specialty product experience, with CNS preferred.
Masters degree or MBA preferred OR 4+ years of related experience OR PharmD or PhD with 2+ years related experience.
Strong understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, pharmacy benefit managers, and government payers, and their impact on product access.
Excellent knowledge of patient support programs, reimbursement support, financial assistance adherence programs, and prescription adjudication processes.
Ability to communicate payer coverage criteria and prior authorization processes.
Good understanding of current marketplace and national health‑care system issues.
Willingness to travel overnight up to 60% and work geographically dispersed across the U.S.
Experience in other pharma/biotech functions (sales, management, marketing, managed markets) is a plus.
Proven leadership skills, project management, and ability to work cross‑functionally on multiple complex projects.
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, analytical, interpersonal, and computer skills.
Compensation and Benefits

Annual base salary: $151,000.00–$206,000.00 (dependent on location, responsibility, and experience). The position offers a target annual bonus of 30% of earned base salary and eligibility for a long‑term equity incentive program. Benefits include a retirement savings plan with company match, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and comprehensive medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage.
