Your focus will be on collaborating with media playback teams on other platforms to ensure a consistent software architecture which delivers a best-in-class streaming experience for our viewers while providing a foundation for media playback innovation at Disney.Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:Design and implement solutions for new and existing features that integrate with various Disney media services and backend platforms. Design and implement solutions for Disney Media Player, internal tooling, and related dependent projects to support product and team needs. Collaborate on the design of Disney Media Player, including requirements gathering, debugging, and integration support for internal and external partners. Conduct R&D to support Disney Media Player experiences, integration, and testing. Participate in planning near and long-term work as well as team agile ceremonies and meetings. Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:Basic QualificationsMinimum 5 years experience in software engineering. 1 year experience working directly with HTML5 video playback (one or more of these technologies: MSE/EME, HLS, MPEG-DASH, Transport Stream, CMAF). Bachelor’s degree or better in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent job experience. Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Proven track record at a senior software engineering level. Experience working with server-side JavaScript/Typescript in Node.js or Deno. Experience and expertise deploying web applications in any environment.2 years or more experience working directly with HTML5 video playback.The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA & New York, NY is $148,700 - $199,400. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
