Production Supervisor

Summary of JobThe Production Supervisor drives operational excellence by leading a high-performing team to meet and exceed KPIs across Safety, Quality, Service, and Efficiency. This position strategically coordinates labor and machinery schedules to optimize output. As a frontline leader, the Production Supervisor is responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring 100% compliance with food safety standards and production deadlines. This role supports the Director of Operation in streamlining workflows and developing a skilled, safety-conscious workforce.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesLead by example to promote and encourage employees to comply with all safety requirements.Complies and enforces all safety rules regarding personnel safety and reports and investigates any unsafe condition.Establish an environment that encourages employee engagement, participation and teamwork within and between all departments.Supervise and promote practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards, and serve the needs of our customers.Operate production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, GMPs, and HACCP/SQF program guidelines.Meets and enforces cleaning practices for manufacturing (5S's methodology).Becomes personally accountable for the highest quality and integrity standards of behavior, honesty, and fairness in all aspects of the job.Comply with and enforce the cleaning procedures in changes of product and weekly production end.Supervise and coordinate all activities related to the production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.Ensure all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basis.Supervise lead, coach, train and develop the production team.Audit the floor as required, monitor productivity metrics, verify adherence to procedures/ standard work and correct deficiencies as necessary.Responsible for shift change management and communication as well as daily production standards and labor reconciliation.Resolve problems and mitigate operational issues that result in negative performanceCarry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring & training employees; planning, assigning & directing work; appraising performance; rewarding & disciplining employees; addressing complaints & resolving problems.Utilize lean, six-sigma, quality methodologies and other continuous improvement tools to track KPI’s, metrics.Perform other related duties as assigned.Food Safety Responsibilities:Follow all relevant food safety rules including SQF, cGMPs, and Food Defense.Report any observed food safety violations to your supervisor immediately.Education and QualificationsMinimum Required:High School Diploma or GEDThree (3) years supervisory experience required with demonstrated strong leadership and management skills.Three (3) years of experience in a production environmentBilingual English/SpanishAble to work overtime, and flexible schedulesPreferred:Associate's or Bachelor’s degree5-10+ years manufacturing supervision experience in a high-speed manufacturing environmentExperience with lean manufacturing, 5S, six-sigma or other continuous improvement tools.
