As our Human Resources Generalist, you will build strong relationships with team members across the organization and help foster a welcoming, engaging, and supportive workplace culture. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role is instrumental in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department.

The HR Generalist manages critical administrative and employee recordkeeping functions while contributing to a broad range of HR initiatives, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, performance management, training and development, leave administration, compliance, and workplace safety. This position also helps ensure adherence to employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

 

Human Resources Generalist Overview:

• Facilitate new employee onboarding, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain complete and accurate employee records in both paper and electronic formats and respond to routine inquiries regarding employee information and files.
• Serve as a resource for employees by responding to questions, addressing concerns, and supporting employee relations initiatives across all three campuses.
• Monitor and track employee performance evaluations to ensure compliance with organizational policies and timelines.
• Assist with recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, employment verifications, background checks, and pre-employment testing.
• Generate and prepare reports, metrics, and other documents related to HR activities using ADP and other HR systems.
• Track employee flu vaccination compliance and maintain related records in accordance with organizational requirements.
• Coordinate all aspects of the Workers' Compensation process, including timely reporting of workplace injuries, claim documentation, communication with insurance carriers, and maintenance of required records.
• Process, verify, and maintain employee and applicant documentation related to recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests, and other employment-related matters.
• Collaborate effectively with supervisors, administrators, employees, vendors, contractors, and external agencies to support organizational objectives.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies.
• Contribute to HR process improvement initiatives and support departmental projects.
• Excellent multi-tasking skills – can effectively handle multiple issues at the same time. Can manage a high volume of work and perform tasks from brief instructions. Is comfortable working with data and spreadsheets
• Displays a strong work ethic (conscientious and dependable). Ability to consistently deliver high quality work within quick turnaround times

 

Human Resources Generalist Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field, preferred
• HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms; experience with ADP preferred.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and data management skills, including experience working with spreadsheets and HR reporting.
