Medical Front Desk Coordinator

Dermatology Associates is seeking a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Position Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients in a warm, professional, and courteous manner
• Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently
• Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation
• Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Answer and direct incoming telephone calls while providing excellent customer service
• Respond to patient questions and assist with routine concerns in a professional manner
• Communicate effectively with providers, medical assistants, billing, and other departments
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information in the electronic medical record
• Obtain necessary forms, consents, and other patient documentation
• Assist with referrals, authorizations, and other administrative tasks as needed
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and office policies
• Keep the reception and waiting areas organized, professional, and welcoming
• Assist with maintaining an efficient patient flow throughout the office
• Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude at all times
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous medical office, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred
• Dermatology or specialty medical office experience is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Professional, friendly, and patient-focused demeanor
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Comfortable learning and utilizing electronic medical records and computer systems
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient information appropriately
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
