Maintenance TechnicianThis role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility that produces floor carpeting for the automotive industry. You work on either 1st shift (5:30 AM-6:00 PM) or 3rd shift (5:30 PM-6:00 AM), supporting production by diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on die-cutting presses, pick-and-place robots, and related systems. The position favors multi-skilled technicians with strong mechanical abilities who are willing to expand their electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and corrective maintenance on industrial production equipment, including die-cutting presses and pick-and-place robots, to ensure consistent and reliable operation.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, including pneumatics and other mechanical systems, to minimize equipment downtime.Open and work within electrical panels, understanding component functions and system operations to identify and resolve electrical problems.Troubleshoot PLCs, including systems using Allen-Bradley 5000 and Omron platforms, using ladder logic to identify faults and restore equipment functionality.Use electrical troubleshooting techniques to locate and repair faults in wiring, controls, and automation equipment, focusing on problem-solving rather than only installation tasks.Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize repairs, communicate equipment status, and support continuous improvement of reliability and performance.Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to maintain accurate records and support preventive maintenance planning.Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to maintain a safe work environment.Participate in training to expand electrical and PLC skills, applying new knowledge to improve troubleshooting effectiveness.Support start-up, adjustment, and testing of equipment after repairs or maintenance to verify proper operation before returning equipment to service.Essential Skills2-year degree in Industrial Maintenance and/or at least 1 year of prior industrial maintenance experience.Strong mechanical troubleshooting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Hands-on electrical troubleshooting knowledge and experience, including the ability to work safely inside electrical panels.Ability to read, understand, and use ladder logic for PLC troubleshooting.Experience troubleshooting PLCs, preferably including Allen-Bradley 5000 and Omron systems.Familiarity with pneumatics and the ability to diagnose and repair pneumatic components and systems.Proven ability to troubleshoot equipment issues rather than only perform electrical installation tasks.Willingness to work 12-hour shifts on either 1st or 3rd shift as part of a rotating or fixed schedule.Additional Skills & QualificationsBackground as an electrician with demonstrated troubleshooting experience, not limited to wire bending or conduit installation.Multi-skilled maintenance capability across mechanical, electrical, and automation disciplines.Experience working with industrial robots or pick-and-place systems.Comfort working with die-cutting presses or similar automated manufacturing equipment.Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Effective communication skills to coordinate with production and maintenance teams.Commitment to ongoing learning, particularly in electrical and PLC systems.Why Work Here?You join a stable, growth-oriented manufacturing environment that supports major automotive programs and continues to win new business, offering long-term career potential. Maintenance Technicians work on 12-hour shifts, with openings on 1st shift (5:30 AM-6:00 PM) and 3rd shift (5:30 PM-6:00 AM), supporting continuous operations.
