Overview Position Title: Structural Fitter Company: Legacy Industries Pay Range: $22–$27+ per hour (based on experience) Industry: Marine / Coastal Construction (Commercial, Industrial, Government or Federal) Location: Jefferson, LA Job Overview Legacy Industries is seeking 12 skilled Structural Fitters to join our Field Operations team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for fitting and assembling steel structures on marine vessels including tugboats, push boats, and small barges. You’ll perform project preparation, steel layout and fitting, and hands-on fabrication and welding of structural components. Learn more at Key Responsibilities Fit and assemble steel structures for marine vessels Lay out and fabricate steel components to specification Burn, wash, and bevel steel with hand torches Read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications Measure, cut, and install structural plate, pipe, beams, and related components Conduct quality inspections on assembled parts Adhere strictly to safety and quality standards on site Qualifications Minimum 1+ year experience as a 1st Class Ship Fitter Understanding of shipyard terminology and vessel structure Skilled in burning, beveling, and steel fabrication using hand torches Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Must pass a drug test and physical No formal education or certifications required; skills will be tested onsite Benefits Weekly Pay Cycle Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life and Disability Insurance Options Paid Time Off (Holidays) Referral Bonus Program Paid Training and Certifications Safety Equipment Provided Personal Tool Replacement Program Ample Overtime Opportunities Work Schedule Full-Time Monday to Friday Weekend availability and overtime required Work Location Onsite – Legacy Industries, Marine Shipyard Equal Employment Opportunity Legacy Industries is an equal opportunity employer.
