Overview RN | PACU - Post Anesthesia – Geneva, NY 14456 Weekdays 4x9s (0630/0730 - 1530/1630) + weekend/holiday on call rotation. The call rotation includes 1 weekday of call per week and ~3 full weekends of call during contract. Base pay range: $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr. ACLS, BLS, PALS (all through AHA or RQI only) and NIHSS required. Short Description: Call rotation includes 1 weekday of call per week and ~3 full weekends of call during contract. Complete Description: All agency staff will be expected to float between Geneva General Hospital and Finger Lakes Surgery Center. Responsibilities The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The OR RN develops specialized skill in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions. Provides care to adults, adolescents, and geriatrics with medical conditions. The Endo RN educates patients and families to support self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes. Promotes comfort and emotional support in a Healing Environment. Applies nursing knowledge in the delivery of care and assesses patient/family needs through active listening and data analysis. Creates a developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant, individualized plan of care and collaborates with patient, family, physicians, and healthcare team to set goals and monitor progress. Adjusts the plan based on patient response or changes in condition. Promotes patient safety, builds trust and cooperation among team members, and delegates tasks consistent with education and scope of practice. Educates patients and families, tailoring teaching to learning styles and providing tools to aid self-care after discharge. Documents education and patient/family responses. Seeks teachable moments to emphasize key information. Evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and uses quality improvement results to improve practice and care delivery. Maintains accountability to increase knowledge and skills and to identify areas for professional development. Fosters meaningful connections with patients and families, aiming to create a healing environment and delivering interventions including medication administration as appropriate. Maintains infection prevention practices and adheres to safety protocols. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Skills: BLS, ACLS, PALS, STROKE, NYS RN Licensure (Required). Qualifications Minimum qualifications align with RN licensure and required certifications; experience in PACU/OR and post-anesthesia care preferred.
