Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting and will be responsible for various full cycle accounting duties. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who works well both independently and with others.

This is an onsite position based at 10604 Coursey Boulevard in Baton Rouge, LA. T he work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

About the Role:

• Processes, pays and reconciles customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies, and resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to team leaders for resolution.
• Compiles a weekly forecasting on wholesaler payments for both retail and client accounts.
• Works with wholesalers and the 340B client team on payment and invoicing issues and rectification.
• Verifies and tests customer and vendor bank account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; combining data from multiple systems Intact, Wells Fargo and 340B Software when account information is incomplete; purging files to eliminate duplication of data.
• Prepares and processes invoices and journal entries for employee benefit insurances, as well as enters and pays the benefit insurance companies monthly.
• Prepares and maintains various prepaids and accrual journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintains leases, updates lease information in the Lease Query portal, as well as works with legal on any changes or updates that are needed.
• Pays monthly rent payments and leasehold deposits for all applicable corporate and pharmacy locations.
• Reconciles prepaid benefit accounts and maintains the reconciliation spreadsheets.
• Prepare and reconciles retail cost of goods reports monthly, and work with the inventory department and wholesalers on any discrepancies.
• Assist with yearly financial audit preparation, and other audits, as needed.
• Performs assigned tasks for new store openings, closures and acquisitions as needed.
• Assist in 340B Payable account reconciliation reviews and journal entry preparatio
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

About You:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance, Business, or closely related field of study
• 1 to 2+ years of related experience preferred
• Experience in healthcare/pharmacy industry a plus
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite with proficiency in Excel
• Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem solving
• Detail-oriented, but also able to multitask and function well in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and organizational skills
• Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as needed during busy times of the month, quarter, year-end, etc.

Salary range: $58,000- $70,000 annually, based on credentials and geographic location.
