Reports to Director of Investments Location Hybrid Salary (based on relevant experience and education) $123,000 - $192,000 About Phillips Exeter Academy Founded in 1781 in Exeter, New Hampshire, Phillips Exeter Academyis a coeducational residential school serving more than 1,000 highschool students from the United States and dozens of othercountries. The Academy was built on the belief that every studentshould have access to an exceptional education grounded in goodnessand knowledge. Position Overview The Investment Associate or Senior Investment Associate will jointhe four-person team responsible for overseeing Exeter's $1.8billion endowment. The endowment supports more than 50 percent ofthe Academy's operating budget and helps make need-blind admissionpossible. This generalist role offers broad exposure across asset classes andparticipation throughout the investment decision-makingprocess. Key Responsibilities Work closely with the team on new investment research anddiligence. Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to analyze themarket opportunity, strategy, and track record of a prospectiveinvestment manager. Evaluate the manager’s investment process, key employees, andorganization. Complete diligence calls and meetings. Draft investment memos. Portfolio monitoring and reporting Track and analyze performance, key return drivers, andexposures at the manager and portfolio level. Monitor and help to periodically re-underwrite existingmanagers. Draft written recommendations for additions or redemptions fromexisting managers. Periodically produce written portfolio updates for theInvestment Committee. Maintain manager pipeline, market maps, and capital planningreports. Support periodic asset allocation reviews. Prepare materials for, and participate in, investment committeemeetings. Travel for investment manager meetings and conferences. Position Requirements Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CFA is a plus. 3+ years of relevant experience.
