About the Position

Job Opportunity – ICU Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: West Texas

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios. Flexible scheduling with 6 weekend shifts required per contract period. Float capability between ICU, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical units as needed. 48-hour work weeks approved.

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 3 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly required – seasoned travelers preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in cardiovascular surgery, trauma, ventilator management, chest tubes, central venous lines, external ventricular drains, and neurosurgical care
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, pulmonary artery monitoring, and vasoactive drip titration
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Ability to interpret lab values and arterial blood gases
• Strong clinical skills in complex patient populations with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
• Ability to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidates located within 50 miles will be considered at adjusted rates
