Senior Implementation Project Manager

Role Description

As a Senior Implementation Project Manager, you will lead strategic, enterprise-level implementations that help healthcare organizations modernize operations, improve efficiency, and achieve meaningful business outcomes.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders.
• Guide clients through complex implementations while balancing business priorities, technical requirements, organizational readiness, and client expectations.
• Lead highly visible client engagements and facilitate strategic discussions.
• Navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across multiple business and technical workstreams.
• Build trust, influence stakeholders, anticipate risks, and drive accountability.
• Impact client satisfaction, project success, product adoption, and long-term partnerships.
• Help clients successfully implement and maximize the value of VBA's solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Healthcare, IT, or similar).
• 7-10+ years of experience in project and program management roles within the healthcare, SaaS, or technology consulting sectors.
• Proven success leading large-scale, cross-functional project teams in a client-facing capacity.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing multiple high-stakes projects and clients simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational acumen with experience managing large, cross-functional teams.
• Deep understanding of SaaS ecosystems, technical integrations (EDI, APIs), and platform deployment best practices.
• Highly analytical and strategic thinker with a data-driven approach.
• Comfortable operating autonomously in ambiguous or fast-changing environments.
• Proficient in enterprise project management tools and reporting dashboards.
• Ability to travel as needed to support client and team engagements.

Requirements

• Experience with B2B SaaS implementations in the healthcare industry.
• Experience with healthcare insurance-related technology such as claims administration platforms, portals, and/or analytics platforms.
• Strong understanding of healthcare payer operations, claims processing systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work independently and be resourceful when confronted with ambiguity.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certifications.

What will you be doing?

• Client Leadership & Strategic Partnership
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for enterprise implementation engagements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders and executive sponsors.
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication.
  • Facilitate executive steering committees and project governance meetings.
• Project & Program Management
  • Lead complex SaaS platform implementations involving cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project performance and communicate status updates.
  • Drive accountability across all project participants.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Integration, Client Services, Configuration, and Support teams.
  • Coordinate technical workstreams involving APIs, EDI transactions, and data integrations.
  • Align internal teams around project priorities and client objectives.
  • Escalate issues appropriately while facilitating timely resolution.
• Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify implementation risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support organizational readiness and change management efforts.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of implementation standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10% travel.
