Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid and current Physical Therapist license in Illinois
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is a plus
- Familiarity with IEPs and special education procedures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with educators, families, and students
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload, adapting interventions to meet the unique needs of each student
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ physical therapy needs within the school environment
- Develop and implement tailored intervention plans to promote mobility, strength, and independence
- Document student progress, maintaining detailed and timely records per school and district guidelines
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and caregivers to ensure coordinated student support
- Participate in IEP meetings as a valued clinical resource
- Offer training and strategies to school personnel to enhance student participation in classroom activities
