Accounts Payable Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead and oversee all aspects of the accounts payable function. This role will be responsible for managing the AP team, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and driving process improvements to support the organization's financial objectives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong analytical skills, a commitment to internal controls, and a continuous improvement mindset. Must have: large ERP software experience (Experience with Oracle suite or Peoplesoft would be ideal) Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Accounts Payable professionals. Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment runs. Maintain and strengthen vendor relationships while resolving payment discrepancies and issues. Monitor AP aging reports and ensure compliance with payment terms. Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and AP policies to ensure compliance and minimize risk. Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and Accounting teams to streamline processes and improve efficiencies. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations. Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and support. Analyze AP metrics and prepare reports for management. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements within the procure-to-pay cycle. Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and accounting standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including leadership responsibilities. Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and financial reporting. Experience managing high-volume invoice processing environments. Proficiency with ERP systems such as Peoplesoft, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, or similar platforms. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Shared Services or multi-entity experience. Experience leading process improvement initiatives and AP automation projects. Knowledge of 1099 reporting, sales/use tax, and vendor compliance requirements.
