CERTIFIED WELDING INSPECTOR (CWI) - 2nd shift  
Haltom City / Euless / Rhome, TX
$31.50–$33.00/HR

We are hiring an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support fabrication operations across multiple DFW locations. This position will work at Haltom City, Euless, and Rhome based on business needs, so candidates must be flexible and willing to work at any assigned location.

JOB SUMMARY

The Certified Welding Inspector will inspect welded products in a heavy fabrication environment to ensure they meet quality standards, blueprints, AWS, and AISC specifications. This position will perform visual inspections of poles and heavy structural steel assemblies while also verifying welding equipment, procedures, and techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform visual inspections of welds and heavy structural steel assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
• Ensure welding meets applicable AWS and AISC standards.
• Verify base materials and welding consumables meet required specifications.
• Verify welding equipment is properly set up and capable of meeting welding procedure requirements.
• Verify welders are following approved welding procedures.
• Perform required testing in accordance with AWS D1.1.
• Record and maintain inspection and test data.
• Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
• Perform weld efficiency and cost analysis as needed.
• Assist with developing and improving welding processes, procedures, and techniques.
• Establish or modify welding procedures regarding material requirements, pre-heat, post-heat, and other specifications.
• Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience welding heavy steel assemblies, with inspection experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes and metallurgy.
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings, especially weld symbols.
• Knowledge of AWS and AISC codes and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
• Must be flexible to work at Haltom City, Euless, and Rhome as needed.

Pay: $31.50–$33.00 per hour
