RN / Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology at UW Medical Center-Montlake

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Radiation Oncology Location: UW Medical Center-Montlake, Seattle, Washington

WORK SCHEDULE

Full time / 40 hours per week Monday-Friday, with some call responsibilities Call responsibilities will include 1-2 weekend shifts per month RNs will work a mix of 8‑hour shifts and 10‑hour shifts Shifts run between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm; start times vary by day Preference given to RNs who can regularly work later in the day

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Radiation Oncology provides care to patients of all ages—including pediatric patients—who are undergoing radiation therapy for cancer. The department is nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate closely with the Nurse Manager to triage and prioritize patient needs Serve in a roving role, addressing emergent situations as they arise during the shift Support multiple providers Educate patients and families on symptom management Assist in complex care coordination and continuity of care referrals Support patients undergoing TBI prior to transplant Document patient care outcomes in our EHR system (Epic) Perform phone triage Answer patient calls and eCare messages Monitor patient flow in the clinic

REQUIREMENTS

3 years of recent oncology, medical‑surgical, or ambulatory nursing experience Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State Active BLS certification Willingness to work with pediatric patients

COMPENSATION

Pay Range Minimum: $45.59 hourly Pay Range Maximum: $83.64 hourly Other Compensation: BSN (or higher) premium – $1.00/hour, Certification premium – $1.25/hour, Weekend premium – $4.00/hour, On‑call standby premium – $7.00 per hour, Overtime pay
