Travel Radiation Therapist Job Details

• Location: Napa, California
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital radiation therapy department
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel assignment
• Start Date: December 14, 2026
• End Date: March 15, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,500–$2,680
• Schedule: Five 8-hour day shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour days, generally beginning between 6:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., depending on patient volume and machine scheduling
• Weekend Call: Rotated weekend call coverage from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Department: Two treatment rooms with a daily caseload of approximately 20 patients per machine
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Specialized Radiation Therapy: Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)
• Orientation: 40 hours

Radiation Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional Radiation Therapist experience
• Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T)
• Valid California state license or applicable license required for practice
• Recent experience in adult acute care and/or adult outpatient radiation therapy
• Experience with CBCT, kV/mV imaging, respiratory gating, and electron fields
• Experience with SRS, SBRT, and treatment planning or oncology information systems preferred
• Familiarity with Elekta Infinity, Varian platforms, TomoTherapy, and IMPAC MOSAIQ preferred
• Ability to provide two professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the past 3 years
• Availability to work the contracted schedule and participate in rotating weekend call coverage

Radiation Therapy Responsibilities

• Provide safe, accurate, and compassionate radiation therapy to adult and geriatric patients
• Operate radiation therapy equipment and imaging systems in accordance with department protocols
• Perform patient positioning, treatment verification, image guidance, and radiation treatment delivery
• Support specialized radiation oncology treatments, including SRS and SBRT
• Use CBCT, kV/mV imaging, respiratory gating, and electron field techniques as indicated
• Monitor patients throughout treatment, identify changes in condition, and communicate appropriately with the care team
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and oncology information systems
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Participate in rotating weekend call coverage
• Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered radiation therapy environment
