About the Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished Employee Benefits Business Development Executive to join our growing team in Orange County, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven sales professional with experience in employee benefits, or insurance, to build relationships, develop new business, and help employers create better benefits strategies for their employees. This position will work directly with large employers and with benefit brokers.

The ideal candidate is a consultative salesperson who understands the employee benefits landscape, is comfortable engaging with business owners and senior executives, and has a proven track record of generating new business.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on acquiring new employer groups.
• Identify, prospect, and cultivate relationships with business owners, CFOs, HR leaders, and other key decision-makers.
• Generate new opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, industry events, and strategic partnerships.
• Conduct discovery meetings to understand clients' business objectives, employee benefits needs, and challenges.
• Present customized employee benefits solutions and effectively communicate their financial and strategic value.
• Manage the sales process from initial prospecting through proposal, negotiation, and close.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal account management, service, and benefits teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale to implementation.
• Stay current on employee benefits trends, market conditions, compliance considerations, and carrier offerings.
• Develop long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for account growth and cross-selling.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of successful B2B sales or business development experience , within employee benefits, HR services, payroll, PEO, or a related industry.
• Demonstrated history of achieving or exceeding sales goals.
• Strong understanding of employee benefits and the employer-sponsored benefits marketplace.
• Excellent prospecting, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with C-suite executives, business owners, HR professionals, and other decision-makers.
• Highly motivated, competitive, and entrepreneurial approach to business development.
• Strong organizational and pipeline-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Professional presence and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation & Opportunity

• $90,000–$100,000 base salary
• $40,000–$70,000 targeted commission
• $130,000–$170,000+ targeted total compensation
• 100% Fully paid medical premiums for employees, 50% medical premiums for dependents
