Account Delivery Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an Account Delivery Manager to own the day-to-day health of our engagements across a defined portfolio of capital markets accounts. You sit alongside the Client Partner as the delivery owner: accountable for staffing, utilisation, risk and client satisfaction on live engagements, while the Client Partner drives the commercial relationship and pipeline.

This is a hands-on role. You will work directly with client stakeholders, engineering/delivery leads and staffing to keep projects on track, spot delivery risk early, and turn well-run engagements into the case for expansion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engagement & Delivery Management

Delivery Ownership: Manage assigned engagements from staffing through steady-state delivery, tracking scope, timeline, quality and margin against plan.

Risk Management: Identify delivery risks and blockers early (staffing gaps, scope creep, quality issues) and resolve them before they become escalations.

Reporting: Maintain accurate project status, utilisation and financial reporting for each account in the portfolio, feeding into vertical forecasting.

2. Client Relationship Management

Day-to-Day Contact: Act as the primary operational point of contact for client delivery stakeholders (engineering leads, programme managers), building trust through consistent, reliable delivery.

CSAT: Own client satisfaction on assigned accounts, running regular check-ins and surfacing issues before they affect the relationship.

Growth Signals: Recognise and flag opportunities for account growth or expansion, feeding them to the Client Partner to pursue commercially.

3. Team Leadership & Staffing

Line Management: Act as line manager for engineers and consultants on assigned accounts, running regular one-on-ones and performance conversations.

Staffing: Partner with recruiting and resourcing to keep engagements staffed with the right mix of skills, and contribute to hiring decisions for the vertical.

Team Health: Build planning and communication rhythms (stand-ups, retros, sprint planning) that keep delivery teams effective and engaged.

4. Commercial & Operational Support

Client Partner Support: Support the Client Partner in scoping change requests, renewals and SOW amendments, ensuring what is proposed is deliverable and profitably priced.

Escalation Handling: Step in on operational escalations, coordinating with delivery leadership (e.g. COO) where an issue exceeds account-level authority.

Qualifications

Experience: 8+ years in technology delivery, consulting or system integration, including prior experience as a Delivery Manager, Account Manager or Engineering Manager.

Technical Background: Proven experience as a software engineer or technical lead, with enough depth to earn credibility with client engineering teams.

Domain Exposure: Experience delivering into Banking, Capital Markets or Wealth & Asset Management preferred; comfortable with the pace and governance of financial services clients.

Methodology: Proficiency with agile methodologies, risk minimisation, and financial/utilisation reporting.

Communication: Excellent communication across technical and non-technical audiences, including senior client stakeholders.

Calm Under Pressure: Able to manage multiple concurrent engagements and surface problems early rather than let them surface themselves.

Collaborative: Works seamlessly with the Client Partner, delivery leadership and staffing to keep sold work deliverable and profitable.

Success Metrics (Year 1)

Engagements in portfolio delivered on time, on budget and at target margin.

Client CSAT maintained or improved across assigned accounts.

Zero unresolved delivery escalations reaching the Client Partner or COO without prior visibility.

At least [X] account growth opportunities identified and handed to the Client Partner for pursuit.
