Business Immigration Paralegal

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Immigration Paralegal to join a collaborative legal team supporting corporate clients, foreign nationals, and their families with a wide range of employment-based immigration matters. This role works closely with attorneys and fellow legal professionals to prepare and manage immigration cases from initiation through filing and adjudication while ensuring an exceptional client experience.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Support attorneys with the preparation and management of employment-based immigration matters.
• Assist with case strategy development and identify required documentation based on case type.
• Gather, review, and organize supporting documentation from clients, employers, and foreign nationals.
• Prepare and draft immigration petitions, applications, supporting letters, and related legal documents.
• Review case materials for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with immigration regulations and filing requirements.
• Assemble and organize filing packets for submission to government agencies, including USCIS, DOL, DOS, and other relevant authorities.
• Communicate with clients, foreign nationals, and internal stakeholders regarding case status, procedural requirements, and document requests.
• Maintain accurate case records and manage immigration case tracking systems.
• Monitor case progress, deadlines, expiration dates, and government processing updates.
• Conduct legal and factual research as directed by attorneys.
• Assist with responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), audits, and other government inquiries.
• Provide exceptional client service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure timely case completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the practice group's operational and client service objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Associate's degree plus Paralegal Certificate may be considered.
• 3-5 years of business immigration experience supporting employment-based immigration matters.
• Strong understanding of immigration processes, procedures, and government filing requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Experience with immigration case management systems and document management software.
• Proficiency with PDF creation and editing tools.
• Experience with timekeeping and billing software preferred.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software platforms quickly.

Preferred Experience

• Experience handling employment-based immigration matters such as H-1B, L-1, TN, E, O-1, PERM, I-140, adjustment of status, and related filings.
• Experience preparing complex immigration petitions and supporting documentation.
• Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Familiarity with high-volume case management and client-facing responsibilities.
