Job Summary Provide independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families on an ongoing basis. Manage chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols such as chemotherapy as defined by standardized procedures or independently based on licensure. Perform non-invasive or invasive procedures, surgical procedures, including operative first assist per approved standardized procedures. Make independent patient management decisions after assessment and consult with attending or other team members. APPs are vital parts of multidisciplinary hospital-based teams in specialty care throughout the UC Davis Health system. Job Scope Collaborate with attending physician and pharmacist to provide pain management consultation for hospitalized patients. Conduct patient evaluation, review medical history, and collaborate with primary team to develop pain treatment plans. Identify effective non-pharmacological and pharmacological options. Maintain high-level independent clinical decision-making and function autonomously within a team-based environment to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
