Accounts Receivable Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE New England Water Remediation is a locally owned, IICRC-certified restoration firm serving residential and commercial clients across New Hampshire. We are growing and need an experienced AR professional to own the accounts receivable function end-to-end. This is not a data-entry support role — you will run the function, and your work will directly drive our cash flow. You will work alongside present, accessible ownership in a stable, team-oriented environment where your contributions are seen and valued. WHAT YOU WILL OWN Invoicing & Billing: Generate and submit invoices to insurance carriers, TPAs, commercial property managers, and residential customers. Proactive Collections: Work the AR aging report daily. Follow up before accounts reach 90 days — not after. Cash Application: Post payments, credits, and adjustments accurately and in a timely manner. Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with Project Managers to ensure documentation fully supports every invoice. Month-End Close: Support the close process and perform formal AR reconciliations each period. Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements that reduce DSO and strengthen overall cash flow. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 2+ Years AR Experience: Dedicated accounts receivable experience including invoicing, aging management, cash application, and collections. Collections Expertise: Proven hands-on experience working an AR aging report and collecting past-due B2B accounts. Accounting Software: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or a comparable platform. Excel Skills: Solid working knowledge including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and reconciliation workflows. Communication: Professional, assertive communication with customers, insurance carriers, and TPAs. Multi-Payer Billing: Experience with insurance carrier, TPA, or other multi-payer billing (property, healthcare, or similar). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Industry Background: Restoration, construction, or field-service background is a strong plus. Month-End Close: Direct experience with formal month-end close procedures and AR reconciliation. Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business — or equivalent hands-on experience.
