Discover the Power of Communication in the Scenic Splendor of Northern Nevada – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where your daily contributions not only address communication and swallowing challenges but also transform lives for the better. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the breathtaking city of Reno, your work will resonate far beyond the clinic. You will unlock the voices of young learners as they embark on their first words and empower seniors to reclaim their independence.
This position offers a rare opportunity to work with clients across the entire lifespan within a dynamic environment that merges outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Whether your passion lies in advancing pediatric language skills, supporting adults with neurogenic speech issues, or providing rehabilitation for cognitive-linguistic challenges in the elderly, your role here will be both fulfilling and versatile.
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for diverse patient populations utilizing standardized tools and observational methods.
Create individualized treatment plans aimed at meeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
Deliver targeted one-on-one speech therapy interventions that address fluency, voice, language, and swallowing difficulties.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, healthcare providers, family members, and caregivers to develop integrated care strategies.
Provide education and resources to patients and their families to promote continued progress outside the therapy setting.
Assist with occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless therapeutic experience.
Document progress and maintain comprehensive records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if you are not yet certified by ASHA.
Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, with a keen understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Ability to tailor therapy techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience with electronic medical records and documentation processes.
Competitive salary based on your experience and expertise.
Flexible work schedules that support your work-life balance and provide a diverse caseload.
Paths for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro-rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday compensation.
Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
Financial support for continuing education and professional growth.
A collaborative work environment centered on quality care and lifelong learning.
A Career That's as Dynamic as the Landscape
Here, you will do more than deliver speech therapy; you will be part of a purpose-driven community devoted to restoring voices, building stronger connections, and celebrating every moment of understanding that unfolds through communication.
You'll thrive alongside colleagues who view each other as family, in a workplace that emphasizes unity over rivalry. Every client has a narrative; we trust you to help articulate it.
