Diesel Technician

Diesel School Bus Mechanic Milwaukee, WI Shift: Monday- Friday 1st Shift Hours: 9am- 5:30 pm Pay:$26-$35 per hour Requirements: Servicing of gasoline and diesel powered buses from basic maintenance and minor repairs to full vehicle service Diagnose mechanical defects and carries out a preventive maintenance program Major and minor overhaul of engines and transmissions Diagnostics: more diagnostics and troubleshooting. Using Cummins Insite, Wabco, Allison After-treatment issues--engines, knock sensors, HCU units for the brake system Service and maintain brakes, air compressors, fuel systems, ignitions, HVAC systems and Wheel Chair lifts Service and maintain vehicle air conditioning units Inspects and repairs school buses per DOT requirements Keep records of time and materials used Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 3+ years in Bus or medium truck Medium duty bus experience, International Truck/Bus preferred Must have own set of tools Knowledge of the provisions of codes and laws relating to pupil transportation (i.e. IDOT inspections)CDL class B License with air brake endorsement preferred A/C Certification Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion in a timely manner Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
