Senior Plant Accountant, Financial Operations

You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life. In this role, you will:Monitor operating performance against forecast, budget, and prior year results, providing meaningful variance analysis and actionable business insights.Lead inter-month and intra-month forecasting activities, ensuring visibility to key variance drivers and recovery actions.Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, performance reporting, and financial reviews.Prepare and communicate financial results to operations and business leadership teams.Partner with plant leadership to identify opportunities for cost optimization, productivity improvements, and operational excellence.Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes for Deer Park manufacturing operations.Evaluate capital projects through financial analysis and business case development.Participate in inventory counts and reconciliation activities while strengthening financial controls and compliance.Identify and implement process improvements that streamline reporting, standardize processes, and mitigate financial risk.Required Qualifications that Enable Your SuccessBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, manufacturing finance, or related disciplines.Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and financial modeling.Proven ability to translate financial data into business insights and recommendations.Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across operations, engineering, and corporate functions.Ability to independently solve complex problems and manage projects with minimal supervision.Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.Preferred Qualifications that Drive You ForwardExperience in plant accounting, cost accounting, manufacturing finance, operations finance, procurement, or supply chain finance.Advanced analytical and reporting capabilities using Power BI, Business Objects, SharePoint, or advanced Excel tools.Familiarity with inventory management, cost analysis, and manufacturing performance metrics.Your Work EnvironmentAt Lubrizol, we’re committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where you can do your best work—whether in a lab, on the production floor, or in a hybrid office setting.
