The Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) is based in Chinle, Arizona (Northeast Arizona near Canyon De Chelly National Monument). Strong Navajo cultural traditions exist within the community, offering an opportunity to learn the Navajo language or learn about traditional Navajo medicine. The service unit is located on the Colorado Plateau with excellent opportunities for photography, hiking, running, road biking, cross-country skiing, and mountain biking. Canyon de Chelly National Monument is within 5 miles of the hospital and is a wonderful place for exploring and sightseeing, running, and mountain biking. Explore the Canon de Chelly Airport Information: It's a dreamy, approximate three-hour drive to the nearest international airport from Chinle, the Albuquerque International Sunport. Serving a multitude of over 30 direct flights daily across the United States.

The CCHCF provides medical care for approximately 35,000 Navajo citizens. Serving a rural area, many of the patients travel 100 miles round trip to receive care and do not have electricity or running water in their homes. In addition, most of the elderly patients speak only Navajo and live according to traditional Navajo cultural practices. The CCHCF and Ambulatory Care Center is a 60-bed inpatient hospital and outpatient facility. Services offered include: Adult Inpatient, Labor & Delivery, Pharmacy, Adult Intensive Care, Mental Health, Physical Therapy, Anesthesiology, Nurse Phone Triage Services, Podiatry, Audiology, OB/GYN & Midwifery, Public Health, Dental, Occupational Therapy, Radiology, Emergency Medicine, Optometry, School Health, General Surgery, Outpatient Primary Care, Speech Pathology, Lab, Pediatric Inpatient, Women's Health Facility.

Psychiatrist - Responsibilities

• The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric services under clinical and administrative direction.
• Conduct crisis interventions, face-to-face interviews, and mental health evaluations.
• Conduct suicide risk assessments and participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings.
• Document patient care and progress accurately.
• Prescribe medication and interpret laboratory results as needed.
• Adhere to mandated reporting requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
• Collaborate with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals.
• The Psychiatrist serves as psychiatrist-of-the-day for emergencies and follow-ups.
• Administer psychiatric treatment and maintain order within the facility.
• Wear personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Participate in committees and Quality Improvement Teams.
• Compile and analyze data for program requirements.

Psychiatrist - Requirements

• Minimum three years of residency experience, plus 6 months outside of residency in Psychiatry.
• Shall have a current license to practice in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. All licenses held must be full and unrestricted and do not/have never had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered, pending action, or denied upon application.
• Must be board certified/board eligible by the ABPN.
• Must have current ACLS and BLS certification or equivalent.
