Essential Responsibilities Use your knowledge of CarMax inventory to assist customers in finding a vehicle that meets their needs. Guide customers every step of the way, from sale or appraisal to test drives and arranging financing applications. Complete all relevant records and documentation to ensure smooth transactions for our customers. CarMax pays new Sales Consultants a competitive wage while training and through the first 640 hours of selling, after which commissions become the primary base of pay. Qualifications and Requirements Sales and customer service experience, in an area such as retail, is preferred. Good listening skills and a strong customer focus. High level of self‑motivation. Benefits Competitive hourly wage: $16.01 - $20.00 per hour. Eligible for commission. Paid sick time up to 48 hours per year, accrued on a per pay‑period basis. Vacation time ranging from 80 to 200 hours per year after a 90‑day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service. Paid for 6 scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday, with holiday premium pay if work is required on a holiday. Full‑time salaried associates receive paid time away with no specified limit for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc., subject to manager approval.
