Workday Functional Analyst I

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Workday Functional Analyst I based in the United States.

This entry-level role offers the opportunity to build practical expertise in Workday within a large healthcare environment.
You’ll support core business processes, reporting, configuration, testing, and issue resolution across assigned Workday modules.
Working alongside experienced analysts, you’ll translate functional requirements into reliable system solutions while developing your technical and functional knowledge.
Your work will contribute to accurate HR and workforce processes and help maintain dependable enterprise systems.
The role provides structured guidance, hands-on learning, and exposure to areas such as HCM, Compensation, and Benefits.
Attention to detail, documentation, and collaboration are central to the position.
This is a full-time, remote U.S. opportunity with a daytime schedule and meaningful opportunities for professional growth.

• Learn and support fundamental Workday business processes within assigned functional modules, working with guidance from senior analysts.

• Assist with developing and maintaining basic custom reports using Workday Report Writer .

• Create and modify straightforward calculated fields according to functional requirements.

• Participate in configuration reviews, system testing, and the resolution of support tickets.

• Document configurations, system changes, testing procedures, and outcomes to support auditability and ongoing system continuity.

• Work with senior functional analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into appropriate Workday solutions.

• Build familiarity with functional areas such as Human Capital Management (HCM), Compensation, and Benefits .

• Contribute to troubleshooting and issue resolution while escalating more complex matters appropriately.

• Follow established processes and standards to ensure accurate, consistent, and well-documented system support.

• Continuously develop Workday knowledge and functional expertise through hands-on experience, collaboration, and learning.

Requirements

• Approximately 1 year of experience with Workday or a comparable ERP system in a functional capacity.

• Foundational understanding of Workday Business Processes, Report Writer, and basic configuration .

• Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Technology, or a related field , or equivalent professional experience.

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to configuration, testing, and documentation.

• Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new systems, processes, and functional concepts.

• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

• Ability to follow established procedures while exercising appropriate judgment when handling assigned tasks.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple support and configuration activities accurately.

• Comfortable working under the guidance of senior team members while progressively developing independent functional expertise.

• Interest in applying technology and enterprise systems to support effective workforce and business processes.
