Job Description and Duties

The Information Technology Associate (ITA) independently handles key IT and business support tasks for more than 150 departments using the FI$Cal System. This role helps ensure the system runs smoothly by assisting with daily production and system support needs. The ITA provides Level 2 functional analysis to end-users, using their knowledge of data processing concepts to resolve FI$Cal System incidents reported through the FI$Cal Service Center, including communicating updates and resolving user tickets in a timely and effective manner.

The duties for this position are focused in the Business Technology Management domain, however, work may be assigned in the other domains as needed.

Please note that to be list appointed for placement in the Information Technology Associate classification, you must take and pass the examination. Training and Development assignments are being accepted for this position.

The classification of Information Technology Technician is also being considered for this recruitment. If the recruitment is filled at the Information Technology Technician classification, the duties will be adjusted accordingly. Please refer to the attached duty statements for more details.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee’s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. Working Conditions

At FI$Cal, we are compliant with the Governor's Executive Order, N-22-25, with a default minimum of four in-person days per work week. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days and is subject to change. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, California 95815. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment. Please note, relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.

This position requires prolonged sitting in an office-setting environment with the use of a personal computer. Employees must demonstrate a commitment to maintain a working environment free from discrimination and sexual harassment. • The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to being hired.

• Experience in Functional Testing, QA Testing, and Test Documentation for an ERP System
• Experience in Application Support/Operations & Maintenance of an ERP System
• Experience in supporting FI$Cal functionality
