Shipping Clerk

This role focuses on shipping, receiving, and outbound warehouse functions within a distribution environment. You will operate a sit-down forklift, manage inventory movement, and ensure orders are accurately processed, packed, and shipped in line with customer and carrier requirements. The position requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced fulfillment center.

• Assist with unloading and loading of containers using a sit-down forklift or floor jack in a safe and efficient manner.
• Label and restack merchandise on pallets as needed to prepare items for storage and ensure proper identification.
• Perform inbound and outbound activities using RF scanners to accurately track inventory and order status.
• Deliver goods to the correct storage areas, including standard stock, non-conforming, or NSP locations, following established procedures.
• Complete final inspections of incoming and outgoing goods and promptly report any discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
• Consolidate, pack, and ship orders to meet customer specifications and carrier requirements, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Assist leadership to ensure timely and accurate processing of all orders and help resolve issues that may delay shipments.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
• Follow established shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation such as bills of lading (BOL).
• Support general warehouse and fulfillment center operations as needed, including inventory management tasks.

• Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including handling documentation and following standard workflows.
• Experience working in shipping, receiving, or warehouse clerk roles within a fulfillment or distribution center.
• Ability to use RF scanners for inbound and outbound activities and basic inventory tracking.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet operational and customer demands.
• Willingness to submit to required pre-employment screening processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when inspecting, labeling, and packing goods.
• Basic inventory management skills to support proper stock handling and storage.

• Experience in a fulfillment center or distribution warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with bills of lading (BOL) and standard shipping documentation.
• Comfort working with floor jacks and other basic warehouse equipment.
• Ability to follow established processes while adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and leadership on order status and discrepancies.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and service expectations.

This position is based in a distribution warehouse environment, working within a busy fulfillment center that handles inbound and outbound goods. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
