AFR Fiscal Program Manager

Position Summary

Plan and coordinate assigned financial activities and operations within the Albuquerque Fire Rescue; participate in budget, policy development; perform financial analytical duties in support of payroll, accounting, and financial reporting; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public. Provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to higher level management staff. s are intended to present a general list of tasks/duties performed by employees within this job classification. s are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, accounting, or finance; and Six (6) years of fiscal management experience in any combination of the following areas:

• Capital projects
• Enterprise funds
• Grant administration; and

To inclu de three (3) years of supervisory experience. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver' s License or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from the date of hire.

Preferred Knowledge

• Principles and practices of program development
• Methods and techniques of fiscal program administration and implementation
• Principles of municipal budget preparation and control
• Methods and techniques of governmental accounting
• Methods of research, data and program analysis and report preparation
• Principles and practice of accounting, including computerized accounting systems
• Principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting
• Principles and procedures of grant record keeping and reporting
• Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation
• Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation
• Intermediate to advanced utilization of Excel
• Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations

• Prepare clear and concise financial, analytical and administrative reports
• Supervise, direct and coordinate the work of lower level staff
