Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Jobs – Plattsburgh, New York

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

• Assignment Duration: Approximately 16 weeks, with potential assignment flexibility based on coverage needs
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700–$2,840
• Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week; three 12-hour night shifts
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, generally 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Requirements: As needed, typically every second or third weekend; additional weekend coverage may be requested
• Call Requirements: Approximately four hours of call per pay period
• Holiday Requirements: As needed, with approximately every third major holiday
• Scheduling: Flexible scheduling based on unit needs; block scheduling is not available
• Documentation: Epic and GE Centricity Perinatal
• Care Model: Team nursing
• Float: No floating required

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse license, or proof of application with application date included at submission
• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Experience caring for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological non-obstetrical patients
• Ability to provide care in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and well-baby nursery settings
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Recent Epic experience within the past 2 years
• Fetal monitoring certification and competency appropriate to scope of practice
• Current EMTALA, CPR, and other required clinical competencies
• ACLS and STABLE certifications preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as assigned
• Reliable personal transportation is strongly recommended due to limited public transportation in the area. All-season or snow tires are recommended during the winter months.

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
• Care for newborns in the well-baby nursery, including neonates from birth through 28 days of life
• Support patients with gynecological and non-obstetrical medical needs
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring and respond appropriately to changes
• Administer and monitor medications and therapies, including oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, and other unit-specific treatments
• Initiate intravenous lines, obtain laboratory specimens, and perform other applicable bedside procedures
• Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage and high-risk labor situations
• Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, certified nurse midwives, lactation consultants, and ancillary staff
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic and GE Centricity Perinatal
• Maintain required clinical certifications, competencies, and standards for safe maternal and neonatal care
