Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals in a psychiatric/behavioral health setting under supervision, adhering to care plans and treatment goals.
• Monitor patient safety, observe and document behaviors, and respond to changes in patient condition with appropriate escalation.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies per CPI/TEAM guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical, and mental health teams to implement care plans, communicate changes, and ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with activities of daily living and basic functional tasks as directed, supporting patient comfort and rehabilitation goals.
• Document accurately in patient records and participate in handoffs and roundings to ensure clear communication among the care team.

Requirements

• Certifications: BLS (AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS) required; CPI or TEAMS training required; CPI/TEAM: Required
• Additional certifications: Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification preferred; Management of Assaultive Behavior certification preferred
