The Early Childhood Teacher Assistant supports the lead teacher in caring for and facilitating classroom activities for young children. This role involves assisting with lesson plans, running activities in line with DCFS and center policies, and fostering positive relationships with co-workers and families. The assistant works closely with one lead teacher as part of a small classroom team to ensure a nurturing and educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in supervising children throughout the day
- Help develop and implement lesson plans for classroom activities
- Conduct classroom activities following center and DCFS policies and procedures
- Engage with co-workers and maintain communication with families
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
- Participate in annual required in-service training
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in early childhood education
- High school diploma or equivalent
