Location: Indianapolis, IN 46202
Pay Rate: $18.00-$23.00 per hour (pay is dependent on experience)
Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Wednesday: 8:30 AM - 8:00 PM
• Friday: 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team in Indianapolis, IN. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients and play an essential role in creating a welcoming and supportive clinic environment. The ideal candidate will have previous medical front desk or administrative experience, strong communication skills, and a patient-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients with warmth, compassion, and professionalism upon arrival.
• Confirm and update patient demographic and insurance information at each visit.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments with providers and manage calendar changes as needed.
• Conduct proactive outreach to patients who have missed appointments to support continuity of care.
• Process prior authorizations and clearly communicate patient financial responsibilities.
• Distribute, review, verify, and scan patient intake forms, consent documents, and patient handbooks.
• Collect co-pays, process payments, and assist patients with setting up payment plans.
• Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
• Strictly uphold HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
• Provide clear, compassionate, and professional communication both in person and over the phone.
• Participate in daily team huddles to support efficient patient flow and clinic goals.
• Assist with additional front office and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of front desk or administrative experience in a fast-paced medical office.
• Previous customer service or outpatient healthcare experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Comfortable operating and managing a multi-line phone system.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Sharp attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Empathetic and patient-focused, particularly when supporting individuals in outpatient recovery or behavioral health settings.
• Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
