Critical Operations Technician

Austin, TX $90,000 – $95,000 + Overtime I'm currently recruiting for a Critical Facilities Technician to join a data center operation in Austin, TX. I'm looking for someone with a strong electrical and/or mechanical background who has experience working in data centers, critical facilities or another 24/7 mission critical environment. What you’ll be doing: Operating and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical equipment Preventive and corrective maintenance Troubleshooting equipment faults and responding to alarms Completing daily facility rounds and equipment inspections Monitoring systems through BAS/BMS Managing and closing out work orders through CMMS Supporting scheduled maintenance, shutdowns and vendor work Following site SOPs, MOPs and EOPs Supporting incident response and maintaining site uptime Equipment you’ll be working with: UPS, PDU, RPP, ATS and STS systems Medium and low voltage switchgear Transformers and power distribution Chillers and chilled water systems CRAH and CRAC units HVAC systems BAS/BMS and building controls Fire alarm and pre-action systems What I’m looking for: 3–5+ years of experience in data centers, critical facilities or a similar mission critical environment Strong electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting skills Hands on experience with critical power and cooling equipment Preventive and corrective maintenance experience Familiarity with NFPA 70E and electrical safety procedures Ability to read electrical one lines and mechanical drawings Experience using CMMS and BAS/BMS systems Comfortable working in a 24/7 critical environment Flexibility to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights and weekends Must be authorized to work in the United States Experience in colocation, hyperscale, military, healthcare, manufacturing or other mission critical facilities will also be considered.
