Augmented Administrative Associate

Responsible for performing administrative support duties within the assigned area. Responsibilities are specific to the job location (i.e. plant, department, etc.). Expected to align personal goals with the Mission, Vision, and Values of OVEC/IKEC. Employees are expected to actively support the OVEC-IKEC Strategic Plan. Employees are expected to follow the contents of the OVEC-IKEC Code of Business Conduct. The Code defines both the ethical and legal standards by which employees are expected to operate every day. It is the responsibility of each of us to maintain the highest level of personal integrity in all of our work efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and confidential administrative work in the office of the Staff Member to whom assigned; handle general office work, special assignments and confidential business; handle matters of a confidential nature involving administrative policies and practices of the Company and maintain related records; take and transcribe machine dictation and compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports and other complex documents. Assist Staff Member with as many duties as possible, some of which may be of a confidential nature; prepare special reports for use by management, collect and summarize information pertinent to such reports; screen incoming calls and respond independently with ability to provide information, answers questions and direct individuals to appropriate party as necessary; analyze, classify and distribute incoming mail; refer mail requiring personal attention and compose and type replies to routine correspondence; arrange complex and detailed travel plans and itineraries. Manage Staff Member's calendar and schedule appointments; maintain attendance calendar for key management personnel; organize events, meetings and conferences by arranging facilities and caterers; prepare agendas, notices, minutes and resolutions for corporate meetings, review various Maximo reports and ensure corrections are made as needed. Perform duties in accordance with the Company's procedures, practices, and safety rules; report irregularities and abnormal conditions; direct the work of employees assigned to assist; assist in the training of other employees; assist employees of equal or higher classification; perform similar or less skilled work. Prioritize work to meet the goals and objectives of the Company; adheres to the highest level of professionalism by demonstrating honesty, integrity and maturity; conducts oneself in a businesslike and professional manner; takes extra effort to improve knowledge and skills to be the best in the profession; assumes a natural leadership role for all employees in the Administrative Associate classifications; communicates clearly and effectively with others. Perform duties in accordance with all applicable federal and state safety laws and regulations, and all applicable company safety rules and operating procedures; when supervising others, assure that safe work practices are followed and conduct safety meetings; make suggestions for the improvement of the safety program and encourage others to do so. Carry out within the assigned area of responsibility the Company's program of Equal Employment Opportunity including its Affirmative Action obligations. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Must possess a working knowledge of software used by the Company; possess the ability to organize data and processes and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Through a combination of education and/or experience, must have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities listed above as well as the ability to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities of a higher classification in the line of promotion.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Computer skills and clerical experience preferred.
Job Benefits

This is a contract position, and the successful candidate will not be eligible for full-time benefits equivalent to that of a regular employee. However, as an augmented employee, the successful candidate will be eligible for:

About Ohio Valley Electric Corporation / Indiana - Kentucky Electric Corporation

Ohio Valley Electric Corporation (OVEC) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation (IKEC), were organized on October 1, 1952. The Companies were formed by investor-owned utilities furnishing electric service in the Ohio River Valley area and their parent holding companies for the purpose of providing the large electric power requirements projected for the uranium enrichment facilities then under construction by the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) near Portsmouth, Ohio. OVEC, AEC and OVEC's owners or their utility company affiliates (called Sponsoring Companies) entered into power agreements to ensure the availability of the AEC's substantial power requirements. On October 15, 1952, OVEC and AEC executed a 25-year agreement, which was later extended through December 31, 2005 under a Department of Energy (DOE) Power Agreement. On September 29, 2000, the DOE gave OVEC notice of cancellation of the DOE Power Agreement. On April 30, 2003, the DOE Power Agreement terminated in accordance with the notice of cancellation. OVEC and the Sponsoring Companies signed an Inter-Company Power Agreement (ICPA) on July 10, 1953, to support the DOE Power Agreement and provide for excess energy sales to the Sponsoring Companies of power not utilized by the DOE or its predecessors. Since the termination of the DOE Power Agreement on April 30, 2003, OVEC's entire generating capacity has been available to the Sponsoring Companies under the terms of the ICPA. The Sponsoring Companies and OVEC entered into an Amended and Restated ICPA, effective as of August 11, 2011, which extends its term to June 30, 2040.
