Travel MRI Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist requiring ARRT registration and BLS certification for a hospital radiology department.

Job Details

• Work within the Radiology Services Ancillary - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) department,
• 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Wednesday through Friday,
• No call requirements,
• Uses Cerner for charting,
• May float to a nearby sister hospital as needed,

Job Requirements

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT),
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification,
• Active SC or compact license required if applicable,
• Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals,
• Cross-sectional anatomy experience or MRI experience preferred,
• Ability to perform and teach MRI exams to produce diagnostic quality images,
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations,
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and lift/move patients,
• Able to lift, move, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs intermittently,
• Frequent reaching with hands/arms and use of finger/hand dexterity,
• Corrected hearing and vision to normal range,
• Willing to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours,

Additional Information

• Perform MRI procedures under the supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols,
• Assist radiologists with procedures as needed and supervise student MRI technologists,
• Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures and assist with informed consent,
• Communicate with radiologists and other staff regarding procedures, orders, and clinical history,
• Ensure efficient use of imaging equipment and supplies with attention to minimizing repeat exams,
• Exposure to radiation, blood, body fluids, and other conditions common to healthcare environments,
• May require working weekends or holidays based on departmental needs,
• Requires candidates to live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted,
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break before returning
