TIG Welder (Light or Heavy Industrial) Location: Warren, MI Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-3:30 PM Pay: $25.00-$ 30.00/hour Employment Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time $3,000 Sign-On Bonus! Our client, a leading precision manufacturing company serving highly regulated industries, is seeking an experienced TIG Welder to join its growing team. This is a first-shift opportunity offering competitive pay, excellent benefits, and long-term career growth. Responsibilities Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal components. Read and interpret blueprints, engineered drawings, and work orders. Set up welding equipment for various materials, thicknesses, and welding positions using fixtures and weld positioners. Perform TIG welding on precision components while maintaining high quality standards. Inspect completed welds and finished parts using calipers, gauges, protractors, and other precision measuring equipment. Verify proper assembly and inspect for cosmetic defects. Identify and tag non-conforming parts for rework. Assist with belt grinding, hand grinding, and other production support duties as needed. Complete work according to manufacturing schedules and standard production times. Maintain accurate production records, logs, and job documentation. Perform routine preventive maintenance on welding equipment. Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist engineering with process development. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year of TIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment. Basic knowledge of welding processes and metallurgy. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions. Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools. Comfortable operating computer-controlled equipment and making basic program adjustments. Strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
