In-Home Caregiver / AideSenior Helpers of Greater Grand Rapids is looking for compassionate, dependable individuals who want to spend their time helping seniors and individuals in need remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes.Responsibilities may include:Assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygieneAssistance with eating and daily living activitiesAmbulation, mobility assistance, and walking supportAssisting clients to and from bedMonitoring and supporting clients living with Alzheimer's Disease or DementiaLight housekeepingLaundry and linen changesMeal planning and meal preparationHousehold organization and managementApparel selection and dressing assistanceMeaningful conversation and companionshipEmotional support and encouragementPromoting engagement, independence, and quality of lifeTransportation using the client's vehicleRunning errands and accompanying clients to appointmentsMedication reminders in accordance with company policiesPreparing sleeping areasAssisting clients during the night as neededReporting frequent overnight care needs to the officeDocument services and activities within company software systems as requiredMaintain accurate timekeeping and service documentationSubmit all required records by established deadlinesImmediately report significant client changes or concerns to the officeFollow all company policies, procedures, training requirements, and care plansTreats every client with dignity, compassion, and respectCommunicates effectively and professionallyIs dependable, punctual, and trustworthyDemonstrates patience, empathy, and professionalismAdapts well to changing client needs and situationsMaintains strong personal hygiene and professional appearanceCan work independently without constant supervisionHas reliable transportation and can travel to client homesIs able to work weekends and maintain schedule flexibilityMust be 18 years of age or olderAuthorized to work in the United StatesValid driver's license with no serious driving violationsReliable transportation available during assignmentsAbility to read, write, and speak English at an average adult levelAbility to successfully complete required training and skills assessmentsAbility to complete all required health screeningsSuccessful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening prior to employmentProof of First Aid and CPR certification within 3 months of employmentOne or more years of caregiving, home care, healthcare, or related experienceCNA certification, nursing education, healthcare coursework, or similar experience preferred but not requiredThis position requires the ability to:Safely assist clients with mobility and transfersAssist clients in and out of vehiclesLift and transport mobility equipment such as walkers and wheelchairs weighing up to 50 poundsFrequently bend, reach, walk, stand, and perform light housekeeping tasksSit, drive, and travel between client locationsClimb stairs as required by client homesMaintain adequate vision with or without corrective lensesSenior Helpers of Greater Grand Rapids is an independently owned and operated franchise serving the western and northern suburbs of Grand Rapids.
