Make a genuine difference in the lives of children by providing speech and language services in a dynamic day school setting. A contract-based, full-time opportunity is now available for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students near Spring Valley, CA. This role offers an engaging environment focused on helping diverse learners thrive academically and socially.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Experience in pediatric or school-based settings strongly preferred
- Previous work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is a significant asset
- Proficiency or knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) highly desired
- Open to Clinical Fellows (CFY); mentorship and support provided
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language therapy to school-aged children in a day school environment
- Assess and diagnose communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate closely with special education staff, teachers, and support personnel
- Track student progress, maintain required documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide strategies, resources, and support to facilitate effective communication within the classroom and at home
- Foster inclusion and support for students who are deaf/hard of hearing, utilizing ASL as needed
- Contribute to a welcoming, student-centered school culture
This full-time position offers approximately 33.75 hours per week, allowing you to immerse yourself in a rewarding educational setting while positively impacting students’ futures.
