POSITION TITLE : Loan Services Representative

DEPARTMENT: Loan Services/Lending

REPORT TO: Loan Services Manager

POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time position with Benefits

SALARY: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Under the general supervision of the Loan Services Manager, the Loan Services Representative performs a wide variety of duties related to consumer, business, and mortgage loan servicing, as well as collection activities on delinquent and charged off accounts. Responsibilities include loan file compliance, collateral documentation, insurance and escrow administration, member support, payment resolution, collection tracking, and reporting. The role ensures adherence to Credit Union policies and federal/state regulations while maintaining high-quality member service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive, record, and review loan files for compliance with Credit Union policies and federal/state regulations.
• Verify accurate entry of loan information in the Core System.
• Complete loan quality control (QC) reviews.
• Prepare and track exception reports and maintenance issues; ensure corrective action is completed.
• Maintain current knowledge of lending regulations and Credit Union policies.
• Remit and track recording documents to perfect collateral liens.
• Track and maintain titles, recorded documents, and cancelled notes.
• Process payoffs and discharges for consumer, business, and mortgage loans.
• Track homeowners and vehicle insurance policies
• Remit PMI, flood, life, and disability insurance premiums.
• Process escrow payments for real estate taxes and conduct escrow analysis.
• Provide loan servicing and collection support to members, including answering questions and resolving payment discrepancies.
• Assist with administering the Credit Union’s overdraft program.
• Perform collection activities as directed by management.
• Review daily, weekly, and monthly system reports as instructed by management.
• Maintain accurate records of all loan servicing and collection activities.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to loan servicing and collections.
• Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive member information.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform all other duties necessary to support Loan Services and Collections operations.
• Maintain required levels of work quality, productivity, and procedural compliance.
• Participate in educational conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay current on lending and collection regulations.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in loan servicing, lending operations, collections, or credit union/banking environment.
• Knowledge of consumer, business, and mortgage loan documentation.
• Experience with delinquency management, collections, or recovery processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with lending and collection regulations (State and Federal).
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with members and third parties.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing documents and entering data.
