Job Description

Join CTOS as a Mobile Expert in Utility Fleet Repair

Sun up on the Gulf Coast. Your phone buzzes with a dispatch to a customer yard where a bucket truck is sidelined with a hydraulic leak. You arrive in your fully equipped service truck — crane, welder, and compressor on board — and get to work. A quick diagnosis, a hose swap, and you’re on to DOT and dielectric checks before rolling to the next site. That’s a day in the life of a Field Service Mechanic at Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) .

CTOS is a 30+ year industry leader with 40+ locations, 2,600 employees, and a 10,000+ unit fleet providing specialized support to utility, telecom, rail, and construction customers.

What You’ll Do

Travel to customer sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain aerial, construction, and light- to heavy-duty truck equipment — including bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, service trucks, and more.
Work across diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems to troubleshoot issues and perform repairs.
Conduct inspections and testing on CTOS rental and customer equipment, including DOT inspections and dielectric testing.
Handle parts replacement, preventative maintenance, and complex field repairs with independence and precision.

Where You’ll Work

Coverage: Louisiana, Mississippi, East Texas, and Western Alabama.
Overnight travel required; frequent assignments along the Gulf Coast serving oil, gas, and utility projects.

What You Bring

7+ years of combined shop and field experience.
Hands-on skill with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Background with utility, construction (yellow iron), or heavy equipment (CAT, Deere, Komatsu) and medium/heavy-duty trucks.
Self-sufficient, organized, and team-oriented; comfortable working independently in the field.
Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class B is a plus. Personal tools required.
