Sr. Android Developer - Android Platform

Salary: $105,000 - 120,000 per year Requirements:

• We require 5+ years of hands-on native Android development experience.
• We are looking for strong Kotlin skills, along with solid Java experience.
• We need a strong understanding of the Android SDK and Android framework.
• Experience working with physical Android devices, such as handhelds, tablets, scanners, POS systems, or similar enterprise hardware, is required.
• Experience with Android SDK, library, or platform development is highly desirable.
• We value experience supporting multiple Android versions and device form factors.
• We need strong knowledge of Android performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Android architecture, REST APIs, testing, and production support is expected.
• Experience migrating or modernizing legacy Java Android code is a plus.
• Familiarity with enterprise handheld device brands such as Zebra, Honeywell, or Datalogic is a plus.
• Experience with Android IPC, AIDL, and Binder is a plus.
• Background in device management or enterprise mobility is a plus.
• Retail or store technology experience is a plus.
• Exposure to AWS, MongoDB, React Native, Jetpack Compose, or AI coding tools is a plus.

• We develop and maintain native Android solutions using Kotlin and Java.
• We build reusable Android SDKs, libraries, and platform components used by other application teams.
• We work directly with physical Android devices, including handhelds and tablets, and support multiple device types and Android OS versions.
• We integrate Android software with device hardware and device-level APIs.
• We work with Android IPC, services, AIDL/Binder, and inter-application communication.
• We modernize and migrate legacy Java Android code to Kotlin and modern Android technologies.
• We design scalable Android architecture using MVVM, Clean Architecture, dependency injection, and modular design.
• We troubleshoot and optimize applications for performance, memory, CPU usage, battery life, startup time, and reliability.
• We integrate Android applications with REST APIs and backend services, including support for offline or limited connectivity.
• We support testing, CI/CD, releases, production troubleshooting, and device performance testing.
• We collaborate with product, backend, QA, security, infrastructure, and other engineering teams.
