Finance Assistant

Orland Park Public Library is a vibrant community hub dedicated to providing access to information, education, and entertainment. We are seeking a detail‑oriented, organized, and forward‑thinking Finance Assistant who is responsible for a variety of finance and accounting tasks under the direction of the Finance Manager. Responsibilities Completes accounts payable processing of bills and payments Processes full‑cycle payroll on a semi‑monthly basis via Paycor Assists in month‑end close process Verifies accounting of monies received on a weekly basis Reconciles petty cash, credit card statements, and Amazon account Creates e‑commerce and cash receipt journal entries on QuickBooks Necessary Knowledge Ability to work well with all levels of management, staff, and Board of Trustees Work independently as well as collaboratively with patrons and staff Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with public and staff Strong data entry skills and strict attention to detail are required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting preferred Minimum 3 years of accounting and payroll software experience Full range of medical, dental, and vision insurance options Vacation, sick, and personal time, as well as paid holidays Employee Assistance Program Subject to a background check Position: 37.5 hours per week.
