SENIOR FIXED ASSET & LEASE ACCOUNTANT

LOCATION

Plano, TX | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

• $65.00–$72.00/hour, based on experience

• Monday–Friday | Standard business hours

• 1-year contract with potential for extension

ROLE IMPACT

The Senior Fixed Asset & Lease Accountant ensures the accuracy, control, and GAAP compliance of a large corporate fixed asset and lease portfolio. This role owns critical accounting activities across the asset lifecycle, financial close, reconciliations, audit support, and reporting while using SAP to strengthen controls and improve accounting processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage fixed asset and leased asset accounting, including acquisitions, capitalization, transfers, depreciation, disposals, and asset master data maintenance.

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reports, and variance analysis for monthly, quarterly, and annual close.

• Research and resolve discrepancies involving asset balances, depreciation, capitalization, transfers, and related transactions; support physical asset confirmation and validation.

• Coordinate fixed asset and lease accounting documentation for internal and external audits and maintain compliance with GAAP and capitalization policies.

• Partner with Finance, Procurement, IT, and Operations on asset tracking, capital expenditures, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Active CPA certification required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

• 3–10 years of overall accounting experience

• 3+ years of hands-on fixed asset and/or lease accounting experience involving physical corporate assets, property, plant and equipment (PP&E), or similar operational assets. Experience limited solely to financial or investment assets does not qualify.

• Hands-on SAP ERP experience, ideally SAP Asset Accounting (FI-AA), with working knowledge of GAAP, capitalization, depreciation, reconciliations, journal entries, financial close, audit controls, and accounting process improvement.

• Big 4 public accounting experience.

• Automotive industry or large, complex corporate fixed asset portfolio experience.

• Experience presenting financial analysis or variance explanations to management.
