HPC Scientific Applications Systems Analyst/Programmer

Position HPC Scientific Applications Systems Analyst/Programmer Responsibilities Devise, develop, or modify procedures to solve complex scientific application problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results. Prepare detailed specifications from which scientific domain-specific programs will be written. Design, code, test, debug, document, and validate programs. Provide technical expertise and collaborate with the team to resolve challenges. Work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. May be responsible for completion of a project phase. Provide guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmers. What You’ll Need to Succeed Education: Bachelor’s degree in a Scientific or Computer Science/Engineering discipline. Experience: 5+ years of related experience. Technical Skills: Experience porting applications to both on-premise and cloud-based HPC systems. Performance analysis and optimization tuning expertise. Ability to implement complex scientific workflows and associated applications. Experience identifying and containerizing scientific applications (Docker, Singularity, Kubernetes, etc.). Clearance: Ability to qualify for a T1-Public Trust. Other Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to meet project milestones with minimal supervision. Ability to work and collaborate in a remote team environment. Preferred Skills Proficiency working within Linux environments. Python development experience (preferred but not required). Location Remote (Continental U.S. and Hawaii).
