You will collaborate with global engineering, design, and product teams to deliver cutting‑edge automotive audio experiences for HARMAN’s premium brands. This hands‑on role combines mechanical fabrication, electrical integration, and vehicle‑level system validation. You will play a key role in transforming concept designs into fully functional demonstration vehicles and system benches. What You Will Do Build, install, and integrate audio systems and components into proof‑of‑concept vehicles Design and fabricate custom parts, brackets, wiring harnesses, and system layouts Perform vehicle tear‑down, assembly, wiring, and electrical troubleshooting Conduct audio system bring‑up, testing, and basic analysis Support UX testing, feedback, and continuous product refinement Maintain and update system benches and concept vehicles Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, design, and product teams Support development and documentation of fabrication and integration standards Assist in CAD reviews (CATIA, Rhino, etc.) and prototype development (e.g., 3D printing) Assemble and validate electronic components and circuit boards Support global product integration and technical problem‑solving Support events, demonstrations, and showcase setups What You Need to Be Successful 5+ years of experience in fabrication, prototyping, or product development 3+ years of experience with analog/digital electronics (preferably audio systems) Hands‑on experience with automotive systems integration and vehicle builds Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, MOST, USB) Experience working with mechanical fabrication, materials, and shop equipment Familiarity with infotainment, telematics, or amplifier systems Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast‑paced environment Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills Bonus Points if You Have Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Experience tuning automotive audio systems for optimal sound performance Exposure to ADAS systems and sensor integration CAD experience (CATIA preferred) Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) Experience writing technical documentation and reports What Makes You Eligible Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international) Ability to work onsite in Novi, MI Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer‑owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion, no more than four (4) active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years. Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need.
